Who Needs Sex Education? (We Do!)

It’s true, scientists have managed to create sperm cells from female embryos!

This is something some of you may have noticed me mentioning here and there. I finally managed to find the article I was speaking of, which is this article. I did get some facts wrong, but here’s a tl;dr of what it says:

Scientists in the UK first made primitive sperm cells from men’s stem cells in their bone marrow.
The idea was to make it possible for same-sex couples to have biological children from both parents.
They managed to make primitive sperm cells from human female embryonic stem cells.
They demonstrated the theorized method by using sperm cells created from male embryonic stem cells to produce rat pups, however there were some complications and the method is far from perfect yet.
They now want to make sperm cells from women’s bone marrow instead.
They are applying for ethical approval to go ahead with this experiment, however, assholes are blocking it and trying to amend the UK’s Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act to ban the use of egg cells from men and sperm cells from women.
A Brazilian scientific team claims to have made sperm and egg cells from male embryonic stem cells of mice. They haven’t yet proven these are viable.
